Andy Signs Pty Ltd is at the forefront of raising awareness on the importance of Sign Language and use of quality Interpreters in South Africa. Andy Signs is currently the most recognized face in the community. We have worked with hundreds of clients enabling successful communication between persons who are Deaf, hard-of-hearing, and hearing through the use of South African Sign language, oral interpreting and captioning. Our mission is to break through the language barrier improving educational, occupational and social opportunities for people who use South African Sign Language (SASL).

SASL is a valuable language. SASL is a complete language with its own grammar, vocabulary and syntax. SASL is a first language for the Deaf community, but there are hearing people who communicate through sign language for those who have children, friends and family who are deaf.

Video Platform Interpreting (VPI)

This is a way for our professional interpreters to provide services during your video platform meetings. For example, if you’re holding a company meeting using a video software, our interpreters will log into the meeting and interpret all conversations for you live. During this process, the video conferencing screen shows all participants in the conversation along with the interpreter. The interpreter actively interprets all communication during the meeting in real time.

Video Remote Interpreting (VRI)

VRI is similar to video platform interpreting. However, VRI is used when all the participants are meeting face to face and need to access an interpreter online. For example, if a Deaf or hard of hearing individual comes into your place of business with questions, you can login online and a remote interpreter will provide interpretation of their questions and your answers. SASL Communication will provide the online link to access the interpreter. You only need a computer, laptop or smart phone with a microphone and webcam.

Andiswa Gebashe

Andiswa Andiswa Gebashe career as a SA Sign language Interpreter stretches over a period of 10years. Since then she has incorporated her love for music and the arts with her innate ability to transform spoken word into an equivalent visual and gestural language. She has interpreted for a mixed and great group of National and international artists to name a few Unathi Nkayi, LuLo Café, Oprah Winfrey and the former President of United States of America Barack Obama and our current sitting president H.E. Ramaphosa. .

She has travelled overseas and represented the country in International Workshops. The exposure has allowed her to hone her skills and in turn she has continued to pursue the arts in South African Sign Language. Currently she is one of the designated sign language interpreters for the Presidential announcements and ministerial announcements. She is certified by SASLINC a reputable sign language body.
